Gretchen Kasameyer, offered to see Stella at Cheyenne Mountain Animal Hospital Christmas day. We were scheduled for a week of subcutaneous fluids that entire week. We developed a plan wherein she would telephone me that morning and I would arrive at a time convenient to us both. Her generosity was beyond reproach. How often has your veterinarian insisted that you have her personal telephone number in the event that you need her on a weekend or weeknight? This, Dr. Kassameyer did without reluctance. Granted, I pay dearly for services rendered however, I feel that she far exceeded expectations and lavished us with the attention and care we required. Customer service at its best. January 15, 2016, I lost a chunk of my identity, never to be found again. My beautiful Stella traveled with me to the veterinarian where she was euthanized. I spoke to her as we drove and prior to leaving the house as I cradled her in my arms and desperate to know that I was doing the right thing, I asked, “Was it time?” In response and as if reassuring me, she calmly thrust her tiny head into my neck and burrowed there as if taking in and savoring my smell for the last time. I put her down on the hardwood floor and held her up nose to nose with Gracie Allen, her sister. Before Gracie Allen could turn away, Stella carefully and thoughtfully extended her tongue to kiss her. Dr. Tim is the most down to earth person you will ever meet. Loves all animals and has taken great care of our two hunting dogs. He wears the best scrubs!!
